Fuchsia Gall Mite - Update from DEFRA 13.09.07. - 20 September 2007
I am sorry to inform you that Fuchsia gall mite (Aculops fuchsiae) has this week been diagnosed in southern England. Fuchsia plants in private gardens were found to be infected. One of the findings was on plants grown from cuttings brought back home from a holiday in France.

Hosta bed - 20 May 2007
They have grown so well in this shady spot, and of course each year the clumps get bigger,  resulting in clumps really too close together. So after all this beautiful rainfall and me not wanting to split the clumps, it was 'goodbye' to a bit more of thelawn :-) Here is the result of replanting.

Bonsai of the day - 01 May 2007
Now in full bloom, Crataegus - Hawthorn.Another busy day in the garden. The ground is so dry due to lack of rainfall and to make matters worse we now have strong easterly winds.Do check your bonsai pots at least twice a day, make sure they do not dry out completely.

BFS Eastern Region Spring Event - 29 April 2007
A most enjoyable day at this annual event.We began with a welcome cup of coffee and biscuits. Our first speaker was Ric Reilly from Cornwall, a fascinating talk of how he grows Species and unusual cultivars in the ground in his large polytunnel, a more natural way of growing than just growing in a pot, and also some wonderful specimens in his gardenIt was then time for lunch prepared by Lyndy Stritch, thank you Lyndy that was delicious.

With such an amount of blossom you would never guess that the little Malus bonsai is 'broom' style underneath all those flowers.Pelargonium  x tricolour or 'Splendide' formerly called P.'violarium'.

Hi Everyone,Today we have gone 'live' on the Internet. The Discussion Forums will be completed as soon as possible, thank you once again for your patience.Here in the SE of the UK the perennials are pushing through the ground once more, but wouldn't it be lovely to have some rain, it's nearly 4 weeks since we had anything substantial, today 18c and mostly cloudy and only one 5 minute shower.
